By playing on Illusion Roleplay, you agree to follow all rules listed below. Breaking any rules may result in disciplinary action up to and including a permanent ban. Rules are subject to change — it is your responsibility to stay up to date.

Server Culture

Culture of Fun

At Illusion Roleplay we want people to have a fun and fair roleplay experience. Roleplay will always be prioritized. It is your duty for your roleplay to make sense, be relatable to not only yourself but others, and come from good intention. Life isn't always about winning — we believe losing is just another way to tell a great story. Whether you get caught by police, lose a gunfight, or get scammed, it should always build your character's story, not end it.

Ruleplay

Our rules support storytelling. It is not our intention or job to be parental figures and we will not micromanage your RP if it's collaborative, fair, and fun. If a rule break creates good RP and no one was harmed, we may let it slide. But if your actions ruin someone else's experience, expect consequences.

Staff Philosophy

Staff decisions will focus on three things: Intent (what was the reason for your action?), Impact (what kind of environment did your action create?), and Collaboration (did your action affect other players?).

Hate Speech & Bigotry

We are an inclusive space. The following is never tolerated in or out of character across all Illusion RP platforms (Discord, in city, out of city, socials, etc.): Homophobia or transphobia, religious or cultural hate, slurs, coded language, or extremist content. RP is never an excuse to be hateful.

Harassment (On or Off Server)

Harassment includes: sending unwanted messages after being told to stop, DMs about RP events, creating chats to harass or isolate others, sharing personal info or screenshots without consent, and making others feel unsafe in-game or off. If you're being harassed, open a ticket. We take off-server behavior seriously.

Off-Server Conduct

We will not moderate private drama. But if your behavior off-server creates a hostile environment, threatens another member, or undermines the community — you will be removed, no matter where it happened.

Adult Server (18+)

Illusion RP is an 18+ community. Adult conversations and mature RP may occur. If you are accused of being underage, you will be required to provide proof or will be removed. You may rejoin once you are of the required age.

No Backseat Moderating

Don't enforce rules in public or during roleplay. Use the ticket support system to bring rule breaks to staff's attention.

Ban Evasion & Alts

Do not use alts to evade bans or spy. Disclose all FiveM/Discord alts to staff.

Usernames & Names

All usernames, character names, bios, and Steam names must follow community guidelines. No sexual content, racist behavior, or slurs of any kind. Staff may request a name change at any time. Failure to comply will result in removal.

No Advertising

No promoting outside servers, streaming channels, social media profiles, or Discords without staff approval. This includes clothing or vanity items.

Leave Drama at the Door

You don't have to like everyone, but you do have to act like an adult. Keep personal beef out of RP. Constant OOC negativity will get you removed.

Roleplay Standards

Always Stay In Character

You must always remain in character, even during rule breaks. You must respect others' roleplay when another player engages with you. All interactions should be approached with the intent to storytell.

Protecting Yourself (POV)

It is your own responsibility to protect yourself from accusations of improper roleplay. We highly recommend recording your full game sessions. This must include: video of your game session, in-game audio, clear audio of your voice, and no soundpacks that give you an unfair advantage. If you cannot provide POV when requested, staff will side with the reporting party.

OOC / Breaking Character

Do not break character in ANY situation for ANY reason. Do not directly reference game mechanics, lag, desync, or server features while in character. Use RP lingo to explain situations (e.g. "I am having a headache" instead of "I am lagging"). Finish the scene and report it using the ticket system.

Exploiting & Bugs

Report bugs or unbalanced mechanics immediately through support ticket. Do not: emote spam to avoid actions, engage in item/vehicle duplication, send money/items between your own characters, accept real money for in-game items, or use glitched vehicles/items. If you are caught exploiting, you will be permanently removed.

NVL — No Value of Life

You must fear for your life while in character. Value your life when threatened. If unarmed or outnumbered, surrender (unless RP justifies otherwise). You must be prepared to roleplay the outcomes of high-risk choices.

RDM — Random Deathmatch

Killing someone without any roleplay or story is RDM. You must always have a reason for killing someone with proper initiation. Failure to do so will result in a ban.

VDM — Vehicle Deathmatch

Purposefully and maliciously using any vehicle to kill another player without sufficient roleplay is prohibited. Intent is everything. VDM does not include running over someone standing in front of you during an active chase where your life is at risk.

Metagaming

All information your character acts on must be collected through in-game knowledge. Don't use OOC info from streams, DMs, or Discord to gain an advantage. You are not allowed to be in another person's stream while in city.

Powergaming

Forcing outcomes or not allowing a roleplay reaction is prohibited. You must always give players time to respond — even in hostile or conflict RP. Using /me to overpower a game mechanic is not allowed (e.g. using /me to break cuffs when cuffs are actively on you).

Fail / Low Effort RP

Roleplay is a collaborative process. Your roleplay must make sense, be relatable, and come from good intention. You are required to have a working microphone. Character appearance must be realistic — no arena meta outfits, cat ears, goggles, etc. Being extremely obnoxious or toxic with no RP purpose is prohibited.

Events

Do not interrupt scheduled events (concerts, funerals, debates, etc.) unless approved by staff through a ticket with a valid RP reason.

Conflict Rules

Conflict Initiation

All conflict must be started with verbal initiation. You must announce yourselves before killing anyone. No-initiation killing will result in punishable action from staff.

Combat Logging

Combat logging is a bannable offense. You are not allowed to leave the server if you are actively connected to a current conflict or ongoing RP situation involving another player (person, gang, or government official).

Talking While Down

Roleplay your injuries if you are downed. Talking while dead is considered Fail RP. This includes giving comms to your people while being shot, having conversations while dead, and enforcing rules on the opposing player while down — let it play out, then submit a ticket.

Conflict Limitations — General

Players are allowed a maximum of 6 people to be part of a conflict scene (excluding police). This refers to all criminal activity — shootouts, heists, turf disputes, etc.

Conflict Limitations — Turf

If conflict occurs on another gang's turf, everyone (turf owners) who is actively present at the start of the scene is allowed to engage. It is prohibited to arrive at the scene after it has started. You are not allowed to bait a gang conflict to turf to bypass group limitations.

Baiting / Forcing Conflict

It is prohibited to bait conflict with ANY parties (criminals, civilians, businesses, or government roles). All conflict roleplay must occur naturally through realistic RP scenarios. Prohibited examples: camping another gang's turf to start a shootout, or baiting a cop shootout to rob police.

Cooldowns

Active conflict must have a start and end resolution. There is a 30-minute cooldown between conflict scenes involving the same party, gang, or individual. Repeated hostility or retaliation loops are prohibited.

Pocket Wiping / Robbing

Clearing a player's entire inventory is strictly prohibited (including government officials). Only rob items relevant to the RP situation. Loot boxing is strictly prohibited — focus on conflict materials (weapons, heals, ammo). Leave personal items, food, and other items alone.

Roleplay Over Gunplay

Conflict must have real RP reasoning and buildup. Avoid unnecessary shootouts or "bored gunplay". De-escalate with RP when possible. Your first response should not be shooting.

NLR — New Life Rule

If you are executed and revived at the hospital, your character does not have clear memory of what occurred. You may not remember: names, faces, plates, voices, or tattoos. You may remember: how you were hurt and roughly how many people were involved. Treat it like a traumatic blur — not a clear memory. Ocean dumping is allowed for storyline purposes only, not to force memory loss.

Jobs & Government

4 rules

Government / Job Rules

Law enforcement, EMS, or government roles must use their power fairly. No targeting specific players without RP reason. No sabotaging departments for OOC reasons. Corruption RP is not allowed. Subpoenas and warrants must be based on real IC RP. Items from job vendors cannot be sold or given away.

Soul Bleeding / Multiple Characters

You are not allowed to transfer any of the following between characters: any in-game item (money, weapons, drugs, materials, etc.) or information related to other players (must be found out through RP). You will be permanently banned if found guilty of this.

Green Zones

No repeated or low-effort crime in or around hospitals, police departments, or government buildings. No pulling guns or robbing players in those spaces unless high-effort RP has been built in. No baiting conflict in Green Zone areas.

Mature / Graphic Content

When any graphic content (outside of obvious GTA violence) occurs, there must be consent between all parties that can see, hear, or witness it. This includes extended torture RP, dismemberment RP, pregnancy complications, etc.

Important Reminder

Disclaimer: Rules are subject to change at any given time. It is your responsibility to keep up to date with the current rules, guidelines, and terms. Ignorance of a rule is not an excuse. If you are unsure about something, open a support ticket before acting.
